Staying True to Why We Were Elected
By District 4 Council Member Chad Booth - 11 April 2026 The first few months of our new city have been strong and encouraging. We need residents to stay engaged and to speak up. It is going to take all of us to keep this Valley special. As elected officials, we serve at the will of the people. But more importantly, we serve with the guidance of the people. You—the residents—are not on the sidelines. You are the compass. Every email, every public comment, every conversation at the grocery store or local event reminds us why we are here. You keep us grounded. You keep us accountable. And you ensure that decisions are not made in a vacuum, but in full view of the people they impact. That engagement matters more now than ever. Communities like ours don’t stay exceptional by accident. We will stay “Valley Strong” because people care enough to show up—to ask questions, to share perspectives, and to insist that growth is done thoughtfully and responsibly. We are at a pivotal moment. The pressures of development, population growth, and changing priorities are real. But so is our opportunity to shape that growth in a way that reflects our values. We can choose to protect the sense of wonder that makes this place more than just a location on a map. And we can choose to strengthen the community bonds, raise their families here, and invest in its future. But those choices require partnership. They require engaged citizens and responsive leadership working together. So, I invite you—no, I urge you—to stay involved. Attend meetings. Share your voice. Hold us accountable. Celebrate what we’re doing well and challenge us when we fall short. We were elected to listen. We were elected to lead with integrity. Together, we can ensure that the direction of our community remains one we are proud of, not just today, but for generations to come. I will be holding a Town Hall for District 4 on April 23rd from 6:00 –7:00 p.m. at Eden Park for those who would like to stop by, share their thoughts, and be part of the conversation shaping our community. -Chad Booth, OV City District #4 |
