Snowcrest Jr. High Announces Upcoming Performance of School Play

Snowcrest Jr. High's Theater Foundations 2 presents Red Carpet Heist by Kathryn Funkhouser, preceded by a Drama Club scene titled Midnight Bandits by Rachel Bublitz. There will only be a single performance this year, and it will be held in the school commons area on Friday, May 1 at 6:00 p.m.
 
Admission is free for this performance.
 
The 45-minute, one-act Red Carpet Heist is a spin on the classic heist movie structure. When a movie star's team discovers they are going to be ruined by the studio and lose their jobs, they take inspiration from the star's recent movie Casino Heist and plan a heist for the red-carpet premiere that will set them up for life. They form a team, make their plan, and watch it all unfold. Is it the perfect heist or will it come crashing down around them? Students have worked to bring this story to life, not just through the characters but also by making most of the props for the show from scratch.
 
The preceding scene, Midnight Bandits by Rachel Bublitz, is performed by a few members of the school's Drama Club. In this scene, thieves break into an art gallery to steal a new piece worth a lot of money, only to be derailed because they don't actually know what it is that they are looking for.
