Ogden Valley City Council Announces New Planning CommissionUpdated 28 February 2026
Ogden Valley City has appointed its very first Planning Commission—a crucial milestone in shaping the Valley’s future through thoughtful, long-term planning and land‑use decisions. To ensure stability and continuity, the City Council assigned staggered two‑ and four-year terms by random selection, a common practice among Utah’s planning bodies. This approach guarantees steady leadership and preserves valuable institutional knowledge as the Commission begins its important work. The Planning Commission members are Lisa Arbogast, Fred Blickle, Angela Dean, and Tyson Lloyd with 4‑year terms and Jim Morgan, Erin Shaffer, and Terri Zenger are 2‑year terms. The Planning Commission has already been hard at work, adopting a temporary land-use moratorium to allow time to develop the city’s foundational planning documents: the general plan, land-use code, and zoning map. The Commission will play a central role in preparing these materials, reviewing them in public meetings, and forwarding recommendations to the City Council. The Ogden Valley Commission’s meetings are scheduled the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Huntsville Town Hall located at 7474 East 200 South in Huntsville. The meetings are open to the public and are also available by ZOOM. City Council Members Chad Booth and Peggy Dooling-Baker oversee land‑use planning and may be reached at:
The work ahead is substantial, but the new Commissioners are energized and ready to serve. Their dedication will help shape the Valley’s future, ensuring growth aligns with the community’s values, character, and long‑term vision. |
