Rocky Mountain Power Announces Planned Power Outage for Tuesday, July 7 Evening to July 8 Morning

Rocky Mountain Power has scheduled a power interruption that will impact Ogden Valley, Weber County in the Ogden Valley unincorporated areas, and Snow Basin’s Transmission feed. The outage will occur Tuesday, July 7 at 10:30 p.m. and will be re-energized at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 8.
The interruption will affect 6,000 customers. According to Rocky Mountain Power, “This is for critical maintenance to replace a transmission pole in Ogden Canyon and repair wires that rocks went through. The only way to conduct the work safely is to de-energize the system to prevent hazards, and to allow crews to install new equipment without risk.”
As a precaution, please unplug sensitive electronic equipment during the interruption. Also, prepare accordingly; the elderly and those with young children should have a plan for keeping cool during this period, and those working remotely from home.
As with all planned service interruptions, affected customers will be notified by automated telephone calls to the phone numbers associated with each customer account. Make sure your contact information is current in the system.
