Pineview Pipeline Crossing Update
By The Ogden Valley News Staff - 15 September 2026 According to the information provided in the Pineview Crossing Flyer from the Ogden City pipeline project team, work began on Monday, September 14, 2026, for the Pineview Reservoir pipeline crossing installation portion of the Ogden Canyon 36" Water Pipeline Replacement Project. The original start date for this phase of the project was October 1st, but due to favorable conditions, it was able to be moved up to September 14. To allow crew access for this project, the reservoir water levels will be lowered ahead of schedule. Area residents and visitors should expect increased truck traffic and intermittent noise during daylight hours as materials are hauled in and unloaded at marked drop-off locations. The project outlines a specific schedule of operations leading to an expected completion date of February 2027. During the initial phase from mid-September to mid-October 2026, crews will operate during the day only to build a temporary road across the reservoir to prepare for the replacement. From mid-October through late-November 2026, day and night work will take place to conduct the actual pipeline installation. Crews will then connect the new pipeline to the existing system between early-December 2026 and early-January 2027, continuing with both night and day shifts. Finally, from early-January to February 2027, operations will return to day work only for restoration efforts, which include reestablishing the lakebed to its original elevation. Maps provided in the project announcement indicate that the truck delivery routes will run through areas near Eden, Ogden Valley City, and Huntsville, utilizing roads such as SR-158, Highway 166, E 1900 E, N 5900 E, N 7100 E, E 500 E, and N 7800 E. The materials will be transported to designated drop-off locations right at the pipeline crossing worksite on the reservoir. The project is a partnered effort involving Sunrise Engineering, Whitaker Construction, Ogden City, and the Department of Environmental Quality.
