Pineview Reservoir is Being Drawn Down

Yes, the rumors you might have heard are true, Pineview Reservoir is being lowered to continue maintenance on the Ogden City Pipeline project. This isn’t the first time. It was last done most recently in 1992 for upgrades.
Pineview Reservoir drawdown will be happening prescriptively this late fall season.
According to Crystal Ross, Conservation Outreach Manager with DNR, there will be no fish mortality with less water in the reservoir.
The extra water being lowered is not being lost, it is going into Willard Bay.
For those of you that do recreation on the reservoir, the plan is to lower the Pineview Reservoir just enough by September 15, 2026 so that the underwater Ogden pipeline can be replaced. Both Cemetery Point Ramp and Anderson Cove Ramp will no longer be viable to launch watercraft once the reservoir reaches 50% of capacity. The estimated lowest level the reservoir would reach by this October would be close to 2021 levels, even without the extra drawdown.
“There should be plenty of water for boating over the Fourth of July,” said Casey Pratt of Club Rec.
