Ogden Nordic Wraps Up a Tough but Memorable 2025–26 Season
By Alan Wheelwright - 28 March 2026 It wasn’t the snowiest winter on record — not even close — but the 2025–26 season at Ogden Nordic turned out to be one worth celebrating. Thanks to a hardworking grooming crew and a community that rolled with the punches, skiers, fat bikers, and snowshoers got out and enjoyed the trails for longer than anyone might have expected given the conditions. The secret weapon this season? Snow farming. With natural snowfall running well below average, the grooming team got creative — physically moving snow from off-trail areas onto the ski corridors to keep things skiable. It’s exactly as labor-intensive as it sounds, but it worked. The crew squeezed out four solid weeks of cross-country skiing, plus a little extra time on top of that for fat biking and snowshoeing. A big thank you goes out to the whole Ogden Nordic community for their patience and understanding throughout the season. Low snow years test everyone’s flexibility, and this crowd passed with flying colors. Your good attitudes made a real difference. The trails are now cleaned up and officially closed for winter. But don’t put your boots away just yet — North Fork Park has some great hiking and biking ahead as the warmer months roll in. And here’s hoping the 2026–27 winter brings a little more snow to work with. We look forward to seeing everyone back out on the trails. For more information visit Ogdennordic.com. |
