Huntsville Town Hall Has a New Image
By Shannon Smith - 12 September 2026 A simple idea and a bit of local creativity have given Huntsville Town Hall a fresh new identity on its Community Center side. Visitors and residents will now be greeted by a beautifully hand-painted sign that not only enhances the building’s appearance but also makes it easier to distinguish the Community Center entrance from the administrative offices. This welcoming improvement was made possible through a generous $5,000 grant from Rocky Mountain Power, and Huntsville Town is sincerely grateful for their continued support of our community. With funding in place, the town worked with local artist Steve Songer and explored several design concepts. While working on design Steve reached out to several sign shops to try to find one that would work with our price and vision. We kept running into roadblocks...
That’s when a new idea emerged, why not work with a local artist? That suggestion opened the door to a truly special collaboration and was very "Huntsville." After finalizing a concept that perfectly captured the intended look and feel. In true small-town style this became a family project when Rebekah and daughter Solenne Songer were hired to do the artwork. They both played an important part, transforming the vision into reality, hand-painting a sign full of warmth, character, and community pride.
Completed just after the Fourth of July, the new sign now stands as a welcoming landmark for all who visit. |
