Gary C. New
Gary C. New - Candidate for Weber County Commissioner Seat A
6 April 2026

Gary C. New (Surname spelled N.E.W.) is the New Candidate for County Commissioner for a New Voice, for New Direction, and a New Future for a New Weber County.

As a life-long registered Republican, Mr. New was interested in running on the Republican ticket, this Election Cycle, but as a New Candidate and with the GOP ticket being packed, it was clear that he needed to devise a New Strategy to help improve the lives of he and his fellow Weber County Neighbors. Thus, Mr. New threw his hat in with the "New Party" (Forward Party) and is running on the Forward Party ticket, which affords him greater political autonomy and voice.

Gary C. New was born at the Old McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT. The Maternal side of his family are Old Stock Utahans from Ogden (Meyer) and Hooper (Arave). The Paternal side of his family (The N.E.W. side) migrated from England and helped settle Jamestown, VA. The New Family are some of the First American Settlers. The New Family lore suggests that Grandfather Richard New lived next to John Rolfe; whom, was married to Pocahontas. Mr. New invites you to fact-check that piece of History.

Gary C. New's father was a Career, Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Air Force (Retiring as a Bird Colonel). Thus, Mr. New's formative years were spent in Texas; where, he graduated High School.

After graduating High School, Gary C. New volunteered for a Non-Profit Organization, for several years, in the Boston, MA area, working with Cambodian Refugees (learning to Speak, Read, and Write the Khmer language).

Following his Non-Profit work, Gary C. New moved to the Washington, DC area; where, he volunteered at the Cambodian Embassy with the goal of completing his Bachelor's Degree, at George Mason University (in Decision Science & Management Information Systems), and to obtain a Commission (as a Pilot) in the U.S. Air Force. However, by the time Mr. New completed his Bachelor's Degree, had the Flight Time, and had a U.S. Air Force General's & Congressman's Recommendations; his Medical Review (with a Cancer Diagnosis), ultimately quashed that Dream. Although, Mr. New was never able to serve in the military, like his father, he did work as a Computer Contractor on several U.S. Military Bases and at the Pentagon, with a Secret Clearance.

As with many things in this unpredictable life, Gary C. New had to pivot to "Plan B" and decided to start a Computer Consulting Firm (25 Years Ago), which has afforded him the opportunity to work with some of the Best & Brightest in the Tech Industry. Mr. New has had the opportunity to work with CTO's, Architects, Engineers, Developers, Project Managers, etc with companies such as Art Technology Group, Oracle, Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, Ann Taylor, Loft, New York & Co, Tommy Hilfiger, National Geographic, Claire's, and the list goes on. Most recently, Mr. New has worked on a project developing a BotFarm/BotNetwork that explores, monitors, and catalogues multiple platforms for various data.

Gary C. New has been married once (Nearly 14 Years). With complications related to Cancer, it was challenging for he and his wife to conceive children. It being difficult to have children, Mr. New's former wife asked for a divorce. The Good News is that Gary C. New has been Cancer Free for 30 Years!!! God willing... With advancements in Medical Technology, Mr. New still hopes to have a Family of his Own, someday.

While many may think Gary C. New is an "Underdog" in this election, Mr. New believes that the Breadth & Depth of his Collective Life Experiences in Adversity, Perseverance, & Resilience has properly prepared him for the role of Weber County Commissioner.

Gary C. New knows the Sacrifices that our Military, Law Enforcement, and First Responders make for our Cities, County, State, and Great Nation, and would like to say...

"Thank You For Your Service." –Gary C. New

Some of Gary C. New's Favorite Hobbies/Pastimes include Dance Music & Lighting Production, Ballroom Dancing (Cha-Cha, Nightclub Two-Step, West Coast Swing, etc), Duck & Elk Hunting, Stand-Up Paddle Boarding, Kayaking, and Rafting.

Gary C. New is the New Candidate for a New Voice, for New Direction, and a New Future for a New Weber County.

"My name is Gary C. New and I am running for Weber County Commissioner! Vote4New!!! Vote4New!!! Vote4New!!!" –Gary C. New
