Ogden Valley City Council to Hold Public Hearings on Fiscal Year 2027 Budgets and Property Tax Levy
14 June 2026
The Ogden Valley City Council will hold two consecutive public hearings on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, to discuss the Fiscal Year 2027 Budget and a Truth-in-Taxation Interim Budget. Both hearings will take place at the Huntsville Town Hall Council Chambers, located at 7474 East 200 South in Huntsville. The meeting, compliant with the Utah Open and Public Meetings Act, will serve to receive public input and consider the adoption of these financial measures.
The first public hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. and focuses on the general Fiscal Year 2027 Budget, which covers the operating period from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. This regular annual budget hearing will give all interested persons a reasonable opportunity to speak for or against the estimates of revenue, expenditures, or any proposed budget item. Because this specific budget does not propose to levy a property tax or exceed any certified tax rate, it is not subject to Truth-in-Taxation requirements, allowing the session to begin before 6:00 p.m.
Immediately following the close of the first hearing, but no earlier than 6:00 p.m., the council will open the second public hearing regarding the Truth-in-Taxation Interim Budget. This interim budget contemplates a proposed property tax levy for the 2026 tax year. The implementation of this property tax and the city's participation in the Truth-in-Taxation process are contingent upon a legal determination regarding Ogden Valley City's eligibility. If the city is deemed ineligible to participate for the 2026 tax year, the City Council will proceed solely under the standard Fiscal Year 2027 Budget discussed in the first hearing.
Documents related to both hearings, including the proposed property tax impact schedule, are available for public review at least ten calendar days prior to the meeting. Residents can access these files at the Ogden Valley City Office in Huntsville during regular operating hours, on the Ogden Valley City website ogdenvalley.gov, or via the Utah Public Notice Website. The public hearings will be at Huntsville Town Hall. Community members, as well as one or more members of the City Council, have the option to attend and participate electronically through a designated Zoom connection.
