Weber County Offers Free ‘Property Watch’ Service to Protect Homeowners

In an effort to help local residents personally stay informed and understand what is really going on with their most valuable assets, the Weber County Recorder/Surveyor's Office has a free Property Watch Service designed to automatically alert property owners about any activity affecting their land or homes.
The service is completely free to use and available to all property owners within Weber County. Once you are signed up, you will be alerted by email describing what exactly was recorded against your property (a hyper link to the document is currently in the works). If you don’t understand what exactly the document is, or its intentions, you can simply reply back to the email or call our office and get more details on what exactly the document does, or why it was recorded.
As real estate fraud and unexpected property disputes become a growing concern nationwide, local officials are encouraging residents to take advantage of the free program. By treating Property Watch Service as a tool, you can use it to watch out for the good and the bad. Being notified of unauthorized ownership transfers, filed liens, or when the mortgage company releases the property once you have paid off your loan or other future recordings tied to their specific parcel of land.
