Ogden Valley Announces New Code Enforcement Initiative with Beacon Code Consultants
27 June 2026
City officials have announced the launch of an enhanced municipal code enforcement program, partnering with Beacon Code Consultants to improve compliance and address resident concerns more efficiently.
The initiative, which took effect this month, introduces a contracted team of professional code enforcement officers who will work alongside city officials to ensure that local ordinances are upheld. The Beacon Code enforcement officers will address complaints related to property maintenance, zoning issues, short-term rental compliance, and unpermitted construction.
“This partnership allows us to respond more quickly and consistently to community concerns,” a city representative said. “Beacon Code Consultants brings specialized expertise and additional resources that will help us maintain the safety, appearance, and integrity of our neighborhoods.”
Enforcement and Inspections
In addition to handling general municipal code violations, Beacon Code Consultants will provide certified building inspectors tasked with inspecting potential building permit issues. These inspections will focus on ensuring that construction and renovation projects comply with approved permits, building codes, and safety standards.
City officials emphasized that the goal is not punitive, but corrective. Property owners found in violation will typically receive notices outlining the issue and steps required to come into compliance within a reasonable timeframe.
“Ensuring that building projects meet proper standards protects not only the property owner, but also neighbors and the broader community,” officials noted.
Improved Complaint Process for Residents
As part of the new program, the city has made it easier for residents to report suspected code violations. A Code Enforcement Citizen Complaint Form is now available online, allowing individuals to submit concerns quickly and conveniently.
Residents can access the form, along with a full list of applicable municipal codes, by visiting the city’s official website at ogdenvalley.gov. The information is located under the Public Safety section, within the Code Enforcement page.
All complaints will be reviewed and prioritized based on urgency and potential impact on public health and safety.
Community Focus
Officials stress that the enhanced enforcement program is designed to support community standards while providing transparency and fairness in the process.
Strong code enforcement helps preserve property values and quality of life. By making the process more accessible and professional, the city hopes to build cooperation between residents and enforcement staff.
The city encourages property owners to proactively review municipal codes and ensure compliance before beginning any construction, property modifications, short term rentals, and other regulated activities.
Looking Ahead
The partnership with Beacon Code Consultants is expected to continue as part of a broader effort to provide city services and adapt to ongoing growth in the region. Officials say they will monitor the program closely and make adjustments as needed.
Residents with questions about code enforcement or the new process are encouraged to visit the city website and send an email with any concerns.
