Community CERT Training Begins October 1—Sign Up Now

Weber County is offering another round of Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training. This course provides excellent training for all community members. There is much information that is shared that can benefit the individual, families, and the greater community. The more people trained in emergency response, the better off we will be as communities in an emergency situation—a personal emergency or a national, state, regional, or local emergency.
When you register, there will be a link for the online classes which need to be completed before the in-person classes begin. The in-person classes will be held Thursday evenings October 1, 8, 22, and 29; and November 5 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Classes will be held at the Sheriff Warehouse and Training Building located at 1387 Depot Drive in Ogden.

When disaster strikes, the first few minutes and hours can make all the difference. Wildfires, earthquakes, severe storms, power outages, and other emergencies can quickly overwhelm professional responders. That’s why trained community volunteers are so important.
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training gives ordinary citizens the knowledge and skills to help themselves, their families and their neighbors.
CERT volunteers receive practical training in areas such as disaster preparedness, fire safety, basic first aid, light search and rescue, disaster psychology, team organization and emergency response.
