A Call to Honor: Seeking the Missing Pieces of Huntsville’s Post 129 History
By Alexis Wendell - 26 January 2026
The Ogden Valley is a community that remembers. We pride ourselves on the deep roots of the Valley and the stories passed down through generations. However, a significant chapter of our local legacy is currently at risk of being lost to time.
While recently researching the history books and archived records of the Ogden Valley, I discovered a troubling "paper trail" silence regarding our very own American Legion Post 129. Despite the Post's decades of presence in Huntsville, there is a large gap in the official documentation of its members, its service, and its impact on our community.
To ensure that the sacrifices and contributions of our local veterans are never forgotten, I am reaching out to the residents of the Valley for support.
We Need Your Memories
History isn’t always found in a library; more often, it’s tucked away in shoeboxes under beds, in family scrapbooks, or kept alive in the stories told around the dinner table.
We are looking for:
Preserving the Legacy
The goal of this project is to compile a comprehensive history of Post 129, creating a permanent record that future generations can look to with pride. Our veterans served us; now, it is our turn to serve them by making sure their story is told accurately and completely.
If you have anything to share, no matter how small it may seem, please reach out. Every photo and every memory is a vital piece of the puzzle. Please send all information to Alexis at [email protected]

- Memorabilia: Scans of old programs, event flyers, or newspaper clippings that might have missed the official archives.
