Another Season in the Books: Thank You, Ogden Valley!
By Corey Cozzens - 24 July 2026
As another Ogden Valley Little League season comes to a close, we can’t help but pause and appreciate what this league is truly all about.
We had home runs, strikeouts, some exciting double plays, plenty of games to watch and cheer on, and more than a few dirt-stained uniforms. But this season was about much more than baseball and softball.
It was about kids learning to encourage one another after a tough inning or a difficult time at bat. It was about coaches giving countless hours to teach skills, building confidence, and reminding players that character matters more than the scoreboard. It was about parents cheering from lawn chairs, volunteers chalking the fields before games, and families spending summer evenings together at the park.
Those moments are what make Little League special.
This season also marked an exciting new chapter as Ogden Valley Little League partnered with Ogden Valley Recreation to help launch the very first Valley Play Day. What began as an idea to celebrate youth recreation grew into a community-wide event that brought together local recreation organizations, businesses, nonprofits, live music, and hundreds of Valley families. Watching kids discover new activities while celebrating the sports they already love reminded us why community recreation matters.
None of this happens without volunteers.
From board members who work behind the scenes throughout the year, to coaches who donate their evenings and weekends, to parents who organize snacks, decorate parade floats, and simply show up to support their players, this league is built by people who care deeply about our community.
We also want to extend our sincere appreciation to our sponsors. Their generosity helps provide equipment, maintain fields, support league improvements, and keep youth baseball and softball thriving in Ogden Valley.
This season, we would especially like to thank Utah Eye Centers, Dip Pools, Valley Design Build, Ferree Electric, Brightline Electric, Community Foundation of Ogden Valley, NAPA Auto Parts – Eden, Sunnyfield Farm, Argyle Acres, and Grizzley Graphics for investing in our players and helping make this season possible.
Their support reaches far beyond the ballfield and strengthens opportunities for youth throughout our community. When you have the opportunity, we encourage you to support the businesses and organizations that support our kids.
As we reflect on this season, we hope we will all remember that Little League isn’t measured only by wins and losses. It is measured by friendships made, confidence gained, lessons learned, and memories created that players will carry with them long after they have outgrown the game.
Looking ahead, we are already planning for next season. Through our parent survey, continued community partnerships, and the addition of new volunteers and board members, we hope to make the 2027 season even better than the last.
If you have ever considered coaching, volunteering, sponsoring the league, or serving on the OVLL Board, we would love to hear from you. Small-town baseball continues because each generation chooses to invest in the next. Email Corey Cozzens at [email protected]
On behalf of the Ogden Valley Little League Board, thank you to every player, parent, coach, volunteer, sponsor, umpire, and fan who made this season possible.
Thank you for another unforgettable summer.
We’ll see you at the ballpark next spring.
