Adult Softball Is Underway Here in Ogden Valley
13 September 2026
Adult softball has officially started in Ogden Valley!
This is the first year Ogden Valley Rec has put together an adult co-ed softball league. We weren’t really sure what to expect when we first started talking about it, but after our first night of games, I think it’s safe to say it was a hit.
We had some great plays, big hits, close calls, and plenty of laughs. Everything ran really well, and it was just fun seeing adults back out on the fields playing ball.
We started with five teams and have already grown to six: Liberty Legends, Paddleheads, Pineview Pirates, The Generational Gap, UntouchaBalls, and Thunder Snakes.
One of my favorite parts has been seeing the mix of people playing. We have college kids, parents, people who have played ball most of their lives, and others who haven’t picked up a glove in years. Some teams are pretty competitive, and some are just happy to make it around the bases. That’s really what we wanted.
The goal was never to create an ultra-competitive league, but we didn’t want complete chaos either. We wanted something in the middle. Come out, play hard, try to win, laugh when things don’t go your way, and enjoy being at the park with friends and neighbors.
Games are played on Tuesday evenings at both Huntsville and Eden parks. Using both fields helps us get the games in before we lose daylight as we move further into fall.
Even though the season has started, we could still use more players. If you’re 18 or older and have been thinking about playing, reach out. You don’t have to already have a team, and you definitely don’t have to be an experienced softball player. We’ll do our best to find a place for you.
Like anything new, we’re still figuring out some things as we go. But the first games were fun, competitive, and well organized, and everyone seemed to have a great time. That’s a pretty good start.
Hopefully this is something we can continue to build and grow through Ogden Valley Rec for years to come.
Thanks to the team captains, players, volunteers, and everyone else who helped us get this first season off the ground. And thanks to everyone who came out to play.
If you want to join us, there’s still time! Reach out to me or visit ogdenvalleyrec.org for more information.
