25th Annual Ogden Marathon — May 16, 2026
8 May 2026 On May 16, 2026, the GOAL Foundation will host the 25th annual Ogden Marathon, presented by America First Credit Union. The race has long been a favorite community event with plenty of ways to participate and have fun with the whole family throughout the weekend. Ogden City welcomes back the marathon for its 25th year running. The Ogden Marathon is a major component in the GOAL Foundation’s mission to get the greater Ogden area residents and visitors out and active (GOAL is an acronym for “Get Out And Live”). To further its mission of encouraging participation in outdoor events, GOAL has expanded the event’s free youth and family-friendly activities, which the entire community is invited to participate in during marathon weekend. The free-to-attend Finish Line Festival and Granite Kids K take place at the Ogden Municipal Gardens during the race on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Granite Kids K is a FREE fun run for youth 12 and under starting at 12:30 pm. Advance sign up is recommended, and parents are welcome to run with their kids. “For 25 years, the Ogden Marathon has brought people together—from elite athletes to first-time runners, families, and volunteers,” said Troy Callantine, Executive Director of the GOAL Foundation. “This event has become a tradition that reflects the heart of Ogden: active, welcoming, and inspired. We’re proud to keep building on that legacy by making the marathon weekend more accessible than ever, with free events that everyone can enjoy.” Road Closures Ogden Canyon will be closed from 5:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. for the marathon events. Ogden Canyon residents will be permitted to use the Utah Highway Patrol shuttle service to travel to and from their homes. Additionally, Hwy 158 between the spillway and the Valley Market in the Ogden Valley, will be closed during the race. Ogden Valley City, Eden, Huntsville, and Liberty residents are asked to use Trapper’s Loop or the North Ogden Divide due to the Ogden Canyon closure. All Valley traffic is expected to return to normal by 1:30 p.m. on May 16. Downtown Ogden traffic will also be impacted during the event. A full schedule of road closures and traffic delays can be found on the Ogden Marathon website. While all race distances are sold out, Ogden Marathon weekend also features free family-friendly activities for the entire community to Get Out And Live™ and enjoy.
